1. Select the Printer & MediaA paper or other substrate that the printer creates images on. Tab.
2. Click Change Profiles....
3. Select the Output tab.

 

1. Click the Edit Quick Sets button on the toolbar. This opens the Edit Quick Sets dialog (Figure 1).
2. Select the Quick SetA group of settings that is applied to images to create jobs in an efficient manner. you would like to edit, and click Edit. This opens the Edit Quick Set dialog (Figure 2).
3. Click the Change Profiles button. This opens the ICC ProfileAn international standard for describing color transformations. Also known as ICM (.icm). See also Color Profile and Profile Library. Setup dialog (Figure 3).
4. Click the Output tab.

 

Use the Output drop-down box to determine the Output Profile you will use.

Select Browse if you do not see the Output Profile you want.

Applying an Output Profile to an L*a*b* image will convert the L*a*b* image data to CMYKSystem for describing colors based on a combination of values for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black; the ink colors used in four-color process printing. In theory, 100% of Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow create Black. In practice, the addition of Black ink is necessary to print a true Black. See also RGB. values contained inside the media output profile. It is strongly recommended that you do apply Output Profiles to L*a*b* images.

 

If you want to print an L*a*b* image without applying an output profile you can check this box to do so. For example, if you are using an RGBSystem for describing colors based on a combination of values for Red, Green, and Blue—the additive primaries. RGB is the basic additive color model used for color video display. Mixing various percentages of red, green, and blue light can recreate most of the spectrum; combining 100% of all three creates white light. See CMYK, Additive Color. contone printer without color management, you will want to check this box so the L*a*b* data can be converted to a generic RGB that the printer can output.

The Advanced Black GenerationAddition of Black (K) ink to Process Colors when converting from RGB to CMYK. Usually handled through UCR or GCR methodologies button opens the Advanced Black Generation dialog.

Spot Channel Replacement allows you to print files designed for a spot color workflow on printers without spot color channels. For example, the spot colors on a CMYKSS file can be converted to CMYK so the file can be printed correctly on a CMYK printer. Click the Spot Channel Replacement button to modify these settings.
